What is the SiteMax MCP Connector?
The MCP Connector is a native integration between SiteMax and Claude, built on Anthropic's Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that lets AI assistants securely connect to outside tools and data sources.
Instead of exporting reports or digging through modules to find an answer, you can ask Claude directly, and it pulls the answer from SiteMax:
"Which of my projects have open safety incidents this week?"
"Summarize J. Smith's timecards for the last pay period."
"What punch list items are still open on the Baribeau project?"
Claude reads this data in real time from SiteMax. It isn't working from a stale export or a static file.
How it works
Role-based, always. Claude only sees what your SiteMax role allows. Project visibility, module access, and any data restrictions your admin has configured apply automatically, with no exceptions or workarounds through Claude.
Structured, not guessed. SiteMax data is passed to Claude in a structured format, so answers are grounded in your actual records rather than free-text interpretation.
Scales with your work. Claude can work across multiple projects at once rather than one task at a time, so you can ask questions that span your whole portfolio, not just a single job.
Setting up the connector
Pre-requisites: In your profile, ensure “MCP is enabled”
Steps:
Go to Claude > Settings > Connectors.
Click Add > Add Custom Connector.
Assign a name to your connector. Note that this is the name that will appear every time you send prompts, so ideally it's your instance name, for example "ABC Company SiteMax."
Add the Remote MCP server URL provided by your CSM, then click Add.
5. Once done, your instance should now be connected to SiteMax's MCP Server. You can set permissions to Always Allow, Needs Approval, or Custom, based on your preference.
6. Once this is complete, you can start sending prompts to Claude to access your data in SiteMax.
Note: On your first prompt, you'll need to authenticate your access to SiteMax. Claude will give you an authentication URL, where you'll be asked to enter your credentials and an access code. This access code is unique to your company's instance and will be provided by your CSM.
What can I ask Claude?
Once connected, a few examples of what teams are using it for:
Daily oversight: "Give me a summary of today's site reports across all active projects."
Safety: "List every open safety incident from the last 30 days, grouped by project."
Timekeeping: "How many overtime hours did the concrete crew log this week?"
Documentation: "Pull open punch list items tied to Drawing A-201."
Permissions and data security
Claude can only access data your SiteMax role is already permitted to see. Project visibility, module access, and restrictions carry through exactly as configured.
You can review and revoke Claude's access to SiteMax at any time from Settings > Connectors in Claude, or from your SiteMax account's connected apps settings.
Because this is a live connection to your operational data, review any tool-approval prompts carefully, and only grant repeat access if you trust the request.
Additional Note: This connector is separate from general-purpose Claude usage. It's specific to how SiteMax exposes your company's data to Claude via MCP. For general Claude connector setup and troubleshooting, see Anthropic's help center.
