Two-Factor Authentication - Web

Keep your system secure with 2FA

Written by Kelly Shee

Note; 2FA is an optional enablement on SiteMax. Please consult your CSM to enable this feature.

What is Two-Factor Authentication?

2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) is a security method that requires two different forms of verification before you can log in to an account.

How it works

  1. Something you know → your password.

  2. Something you have → a code sent either by Email or SMS

Why 2FA is important

Even if someone steals your password, they can't access your account without the second factor.

How Two-Factor Authentication Works in SiteMax

Once you have enabled 2FA for your SiteMax account, you will receive a message upon logging in with your email address (User Name) and password

  1. If you have your phone number included in your profile and it's been assigned your Primary number, you will be asked if you'd like your 6-digit code sent to your phone number or email address (if no primary number is listed in your profile, the 6-digit code will be automatically emailed)

  2. Select how you want to receive your code and it will immediately be sent. Enter the code received into the field provided and you will be logged in.

Note; You can ensure the system will recognize you for 30 days on the device to which you are logging in by checking the box below:

This recognition will only work on the device in which it's been enabled. If you log in on another device where it hasn't been enabled, you will receive the 2FA.
