Another change to Google policy made on October 25th makes the SiteMax mobile versions starting at 4.6.1 incompatible for phones on a lower OS than Android 11. If you are unable to upload your Android device to a higher OS, you will need to follow these steps to download SiteMax.

If you get an error message (likely around file permissions) and are using a phone with Android 9 or 10, please uninstall your current app and use this link to download a compatible SiteMax version.

Recommended to do over WiFi - 50 MB file (can be deleted after installation)

Why do I have to download the app manually?
The Google Play Store will not allow us to upload a compatible app at this time.

Why doesn't it work on my phone?
In order to follow Google technical requirements the app uses resources that are incompatible with older operating systems.

โ€‹How do I check/update my OS?

  1. Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi.

  2. Open Settings.

  3. Select About Phone.

  4. Tap Check for Updates. If an update is available, an Update button will appear. Tap it.

  5. Install. Depending on the OS, you will see Install Now, Reboot and install, or Install System Software. Tap it.

Why don't I have Android 13?
If your carrier has not updated your phone to 13 it is likely not available for your phone. Manufacturers only typically offer 2 years of OS & security updates.

What do the error messages look like?
