Permissions
Always remember to ensure the correct people have the appropriate permissions to access your company and project data. This can be done per individual or by applying Permission Templates.
In order to Edit Items, users will need Edit Permissions for the appropriate Schedule Items permission.
In order to Edit Tasks, users will need Edit Permissions for the appropriate Tasks permission.
While working on a Project's timeline, you can create multiple items to walk you through the timeline of each Phase. For every Item, you can create and assign multiple Tasks. With these Items and Tasks, you can make
Items
Items are different areas of your Project's Phase. These can be elements such as "Design", "Landscaping", or "Electrical". Basically, they're there to help you differentiate between the different departments.
Adding Items is easy; simply select the "+ Add Item" option at the top of the Schedule page and choose the specifics of your new item:
Project
Phase
Parent Item
Date Range, or
Number of Days included in Timeline
Choose to assign this item to include Weekdays Only
Editing Items
You can make many changes to your Items, and customize them to suit your needs. To edit, simply select the pencil icon located in your Project ID field.
Note: Putting a Project in Edit mode will lock it, preventing others from making changes.
Once in Edit mode, you can do a number of things, such as:

Here, you will be able to:
Give your Item a name
Choose the Type of Item or create a new one
Select the Priority
Specify a Start & End Date
Provide a completion percentage if you are already partway through your Item
Choose a color for your Progress Bar
Write out a Description for the Item
Moving Scheduled Items
Moving Scheduled Items
You can play with the scheduled dates of Items in Edit mode by manually moving them around in your Calendar. This allows you to move Items easily without inputting new dates.

Make edits to your Items details in Edit mode. Click on the Item, and in your Edit screen, you can change the name, priority, type, etc.
Adding New Items

Edit mode also provides a shortcut to adding new Items. Simply hover over the Item to which you wish to add your new Item and click on the "+" icon. Enter your new Item's details.
Tasks
Tasks are things that need doing within each of your Items. They can include Action items, Meetings, Inspections, etc. and can be assigned to members of your team.
To add a Task, simply click on "+ Add Task" at the top of the page and enter where you want to include the task.

Hit Save and a new window will appear. Here, you can enter the details of your Task:
Task Name
Type
Priority
Status
Date
Start/End Time
Description of Task
You can also enter a Subtask in this window, assign the task to users, add any attachments needed, etc.
