Sourcing the Issue
Are you having issues with uploading photos using SiteMax Mobile? There are a few reasons for this:
Permissions: Confirm that the user has the appropriate permissions to upload photos. Collaborators and Lite Users cannot upload photos to the Company's SiteMax platform, only Users have these permissions. If your user is not a paid User, they will not be able to upload photos.
If your user is having issues uploading photos from a form, they will need the Edit Form permission (Collaborators, Lite Users, and Users) to add photos to an existing form, OR the Create Forms permission (Lite Users and Users) to create an Upload Photo form in the project.
Mobile version: Issues with our Upload Photos feature may come from not having the latest version of our mobile app. Please make sure your user is updating their SiteMax app to ensure all features are working and up-to-date.
Phone Permissions
Settings > Privacy > Photos
Make sure your phone privacy settings give access to SiteMax photo uploads by selecting "All Photos" to allow photo access.
Troubleshooting the Issue
If you are still encountering the issue after checking for the issue's source, please follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue.
Step 1: Check the phone's photo-related settings to see if anything is preventing you from selecting photos.
To help you solve this, we suggest that you try going to your phone's “Settings” menu, find and tap on “Camera.”
In the “Camera” menu, tap on “Formats” at the very top of the menu. Here you can select either “High Efficiency,” which will allow your iPhone to shoot and store HEIC files, or “Most Compatible,” which will have your phone capture JPEGs. To ensure the files are compatible with SiteMax, please set your Camera settings to JPEGs.
Then try capturing the photo with SiteMax's capture function or try uploading only one photo at a time after the settings have been changed.
Step 2: Try relaunching or reinstalling the SiteMax app.
Step 3: Restart your phone before trying to upload or take photos again.
Step 4: Ensure that you are connected to a stable network. With photo uploads, high-definition pictures take time to load depending on your current network bandwidth.
Note: Stay on the page while uploading as there are instances that it takes time to load when you are using an unstable connection.
