Starting November 1st, 2024, a new change to Google's Store policy will render SiteMax mobile versions incompatible with phones running any OS version lower than Android 14. From this date onward, the Google Store will require all modern apps to target Android 14 or higher.

What does this mean for Android users?

Users on Android 14 and above

There will be no impact from this change.

Users on Android 13

On October 17, we will implement a code freeze on the latest version of the mobile app. Users on Android 13 and lower will be logged out of their session and required to install the latest compatible version of SiteMax for their devices.

Beyond version 4.8.4, app updates will only be available to those on Android 14 or higher. If you encounter any issues with this final compatible version, please reach out to us at support@sitemaxsystems.com by October 25th. After this date, support for issues will only be available to users on Android 14 or later!

Users on versions below Android 13

Unfortunately, older phones might not support the more recent Android OS versions, and there will be no manual download option to bypass Google Play Store's policy changes. This means you won't be able to download the application from the Play Store or receive any updates. It looks like it’s time to upgrade your device!

Please note that Google drives this change and it will likely affect other apps

you use.

What if the app is working for me?

If you already have the app and it is still working for you, please be aware that this is only temporary. If you do not have Android 14, you will be stuck on an older version of the app and will not be able to update it. This means that any changes made on the back end of the app could negatively impact your app version.

Additionally, please note that Google will delay the app's operations. For the best experience with the application, you will need to upgrade your device to Android 14.

How do I check/update my OS?

  1. Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi.

  2. Open Settings.

  3. Select About Phone.

  4. Tap Check for Updates. If an update is available, an Update button will appear. Tap it.

  5. Install. Depending on the OS, you will see Install Now, Reboot and Install, or Install System Software. Tap it.

Why don't I have Android 13?

If your carrier has not updated your phone to 13 it is likely not available for your phone. Manufacturers only typically offer 2 years of OS & security updates.

Why doesn't it work on my phone?

To follow Google's technical requirements the app must use resources that are incompatible with older operating systems.
