Permissions
Always remember to ensure the correct people have the appropriate permissions to access your company and project data. This can be done per individual or by applying Permission Templates.
In order to manage their own time, users will need Manage permissions for Time entries (self)
In order to manage time for themselves and/or others, users will need Manage permissions for either Timecenter or Timecards
Time Center vs. Timecards
Both Time Center and Timecards work similarly. Time Center allows managing of time across all projects at the Company Level, while Timecards allows for managing time at the Project Level.
This article will provide instructions on managing your team's time and the actions you can perform across both Time Center and Timecards.
Adding Time

Manual: Time can always be added to a user from the Time Center. You can either add a new time entry or add further information to an existing entry. You can add time by following the steps below
From web (Dashboard > Time Center > + Add Time)
Manual Check-in: Click on "+ Add Time" in either Time Center or Timecards within a project. Check "Keep Checked In" to start the clock.
To Check-Out, click on the Gear icon in the "Out" column of your time entry and enter the check-out time.
Manual Time Entry: In Time Center or Timecards within a project, click on "+ Add Time". Enter the time in and time out, along with all necessary information (Project, Users, Cost Codes, Custom Fields, etc. and Save
Editing Time
Editing Time
Time entries can always be edited as long as users have the proper permissions settings. Edits can be done individually by clicking on the user's name, or you can edit multiple entries at once.
Select your entries by checking the box beside each one
Under the Actions dropdown, select "Edit".
Your Edit screen will appear and you can make the following updates to the entries
Select the edits you wish to make and click "Save" to save your changes

Cost Code
Work Type
Classification
Time Type
Notes
Any Custom Fields that have been created for time entries
Approving Time
Approving Time
Because there are different Views in both Time Center and Timecards, there are two different ways you can Approve time entries.
List View
List View
In the List View you can Approve both individual and multiple time entries.
Navigate to the People or Equipment Tab:
Note: If "Enable Submit Status" has been checked in Time Settings, your time entries will first need to be Submitted.
Individual Approval
To approve time entries one at a time:
Open the entry you want to approve.
Under the 3 dot action button at the top right of your Edit screen, select "Approve"
Bulk Approval
Select your Time Entries by checking the boxes next to the user names or equipment entries you want to approve. Alternatively, click the checkbox at the top of the table to select all entries.
Under the Actions dropdown, select "Approve"
Click "OK" to complete the Approval
Note; Approved Time Entries can be reversed with "Undo Approve"
For Bulk entries, you will first need to filter your entries by status in order to bring up your Approved entries.
Grid View
Grid View
Approving Time Entries in the Grid View is done in the header above each user's name.
Click on the Approve dropdown and select either "Approve All" or the individual project if you just want to approve entries for one project.
Note; If "Submit Status" is enabled in Time Settings,
You will need to Submit your entries before approving.
You can always Undo your Submissions and Approvals with the Undo action headers.
Hot Tip: You'll always know if entries have been Approved/Submitted in the Grid View by the Undo action headers. They will only appear when the opposite action (ie; Submit/Approve) has been completed.
You'll notice there is no instructions for Approving entries in the Tile View, as this action is not available.
Locking Time Entries

Once you have approved and proceeded with the time entries, you can use the "lock" feature to disable further edits. You or anyone with Manage permissions (cog icon) can unlock the time cards and make changes to the entries. You can see if this is enabled by looking at the status next to a time entry.
Equipment Time
Equipment Time
Equipment can have its own timecard or be a part of a user's time card. To add equipment time independent of a user, click on the "Equipment tab" in the time center. To log equipment time with a user's time entry, select the correct equipment on the web and mobile time entry screen.
Materials Log
Materials Log
Materials are logged independently in the "Material tab" in the Time Center module. Click "+ Add Material Log" and select the project, material, and quantity and any necessary tags. This will create a log within the specified project.
Automatic Time Rules
Automatic Time Rules
You can also set up automatic time rules, such as "Lunch Deduction" and "Overtime". These rules automatically calculate your employees' time based on specific time tracking methods that you may follow. Set up automatic time rules in the time settings: Dashboard > Settings > Modules > Time.
