Time Reports Overview

Create custom Time Reports based on your exact needs. Customizing and Exporting your Reports.

Permissions

Always remember to ensure the correct people have the appropriate permissions to access your company and project materials. This can be done per individual or by applying Permission Templates.

In order to access Reports, users will need Manage permissions for Timecenter


Build detailed custom reports containing just the data you need. Quickly create report templates and export them as a CSV, XSLX, or PDF file for your records. Create personalized templates Company wide across all Projects in Time Center, or Project-specific templates in your Project's Timecards. An example of a report that you can create would be a report for Payroll, Attendance, or Supervisor Report.

Creating a Custom Time Report

  1. Navigate to the Time Center from your dashboard, or to Timecards in your selected project

  2. Click on the "Reports" tab within the Time Center/Timecards interface.

  3. Locate the "+ Add Template" button and click on it. This action will take you to the "Create Report Template" page.

Formatting

Customize how you want your attributes to display in the report.

Choose your preferred format for

  • Date - how you want your date to appear within your report

  • Time - choose 12h or 24h time formats

  • Hour - how do you want the hours for your time entries to appear in your report

  • Name - choose if you want your users' names to be listed with First name first, or last name first, etc.

Cost Type

Decide whether you want a Labour, Equipment, or Material report or all three

Include in Report

Choose to include certain attributes into the report such as Work Types, Cost Codes, Project Tags, and User Tags.

Note; you can choose multiple options for each field.

Exclude from Report

Choose to not include certain attributes - Work Types and Cost Codes -into the report.

Building Your Report

The "Columns" and "Group By" sections are where you build your report. This is where you select which data to include in your report. You will find most classifications or statuses here as part of your report.

To add an attribute, open the "Columns" section, and click on a crossed-out Eye symbol. Once the eye is a solid colour, it will be present in your report. Otherwise, it will not be visible in your report.

You'll also be able to calculate totals for certain items, such as Hours, Material Quantity, Payable, and Billable by clicking on the (f)unction icon. Shown in the image below. By selecting this icon, this will automatically show the total cost in your report.

You can get a better view of all the attributes you can include in a report by clicking the icons highlighted in the image below.

Once you have clicked the icon, you will see a list of all the attributes that you can use to build your report. Here are all the attributes that are found under "Columns".

When you have selected your attributes for your report, you can choose which data you want to be the focus of your report with the "Group By" option. It will separate each attribute with a colour.

Column Ordering

You can change the ordering of Columns by dragging your items using the "Lined" icon to the right of the "Eye" icon. Items above other items will appear before them in the list.

Time Report Visibility

Choose who can view your custom reports, and how much visibility they have.

  • Partial View - users will be able to view the report, minus the financial details

  • Full view - gives users the ability to view the full report in its entirety.

  • Manage - allows users to make edits to the report

Note: Visibility Rules in your Time Reports will supersede user's permissions. For example, if a user has full Manage permissions in Time Center or Timecards, but is not included on a Time Report's visibility rules, that user will not be able to view the report

Exporting Time Reports

Once you have created a report, you can then export it to a file. You can either export the information in CSV, XLSX, PDF format.
To start, choose your Time Report

  1. Select your Date Range and any Filters you might need

  2. Click "Load Report"

  3. Once your Report is loaded, select your Export options from the Actions dropdown.

    1. For both CSV and XLSX formats, your export will be automatically uploaded to your computer

    2. For PDF, a new window will open with the PDF of the report and you can Save from there.
