How to enter time through web, Time entry web

Permissions

Always remember to ensure the correct people have the appropriate permissions to access your company and project materials. This can be done per individual or by applying Permission Templates.

In order to enter time in a Project's Timecards, users will need Create permissions for Timecards

In order to enter time in the Company's Timecenter, users will need Create permissions for Timecenter


This help article outlines two simple methods to enter time: using Timecards or the Time Center. Both methods offer ease of use and ensure accurate time tracking for your projects. Below are step-by-step instructions for each approach.

Entering Time in SiteMax through Web

Two ways to enter time:

1. Through Timecards (Recommended)

  1. From the Dashboard, navigate to the "Select a Project" option.

  2. Choose the desired project for which you want to enter the time.

  3. After selecting the project, click on the "Timecards" section.

  4. Within the "Timecards" section, click the "Add Time" button.

    Note: Ensure that you are on the "People" tab.

  5. Filling out Time Entry:

    • The "Add Entry" page will appear. Here, you can provide the required information for the time entry.

    • Enter the duration of the work completed.

    • Select the relevant users who have worked on the project during the specified time.

    • Add any additional details related to the work, if necessary.

  6. Once you have filled out the required information, click the "Save & Close" button to save the time entry.

Note:

  • Even after selecting a specific project from the Dashboard, you can still change it on the "Add Entry" page if required.

  • Using Timecards is recommended as it ensures you are entering time for a specific project and that the users available to select are assigned to that project.


2. Through Time Center

  1. From the Dashboard, locate and click on the "Time Center" option.

  2. Within the "Time Center" section, click the "Add Time" button.

  3. Ensure that you are on the "People" tab.

  4. Filling out Time Entry:

    • The "Add Entry" page will appear. Here, provide the required information for the time entry.

    • Enter the duration of the work completed.

    • Specify the project for which the time entry is relevant.

    • Select the users who have worked on the project during the specified time.

  5. After filling out all the necessary details, click the "Save & Close" button to save the time entry.

Hot Tip: For admins with create permissions in Time Center, you can add time entries for users by crew.

  • On the Add Entry page, when selecting users, click on the icon to the right of the field

  • This will bring you to your list of crews to choose from

  • When the time has been entered, each member of that crew's hours will be recorded.


Entering Time in SiteMax through Mobile

  1. Add Time from Home on mobile.

2. Click Time to start a time entry

3. Pick a Date, Time, Project and click the checkbox beside your name.

4. Then click Start to begin recording time.

5. Once checked-in, view check-in status on the top of the bottom navigation bar.

6. In the check-in status modal review time and click Stop to check-out.

7. In the Time Entry Edit modal, edit entry or split time.

8. Edit Split Entries or Delete Split Entries.

9. When Editing a Time Entry be sure to fill all fields required by administration, then click Save or Cancel.

10. Review your own timecard by clicking into the feature bar from Home, then click Time Centre.

11. This will lead into the Project Timecards.

12. Alternatively, Review Time by clicking into the Project, opening the side bar and clicking into Project Timecards.

13. Toggle using the arrows above the timecards to Pick a Pay Period.

14. Once in Project Timecards click into a Timecard to Edit entries by Pay Period

15. Click on any Date to open the Timecard Entries for that day.

16. Add Time from Project on mobile.

17. Click Time to open the Time Entry Menu


Other MobileTime Entry Options

Multiple Check-In

- Allows a user to mark their Check-In and Check-Out times

Manual Time Entry

- Allows a user to create a time entry without specifying start-time and end-time.

Complete Check-In/Out

- Allows a user to create a time entry that specifies start-time and end-time.
