Permissions

Always remember to ensure the correct people have the appropriate permissions to access your company and project materials. This can be done per individual or by applying Permission Templates.

To access Materials Settings, users will need Edit permissions for Company Settings.

Materials Settings

Now that you've set up your permissions, let's choose the settings that fit in with the workflow you want to follow for your Materials.

In the Materials tab of the Settings module in your main dashboard, you'll see the following selections:

  • Materials Settings

  • Material Workflows

Enable material log value editing

Under the Materials Settings section, you will see the "Enable material log value editing" option. Checking this box allows you to edit the value of a material log within the Material Logs tab in the Materials module of a selected project.

Enable material log date editing

Checking this box allows you to edit a material Log Date within the Material Log tab in the Materials module of a selected project.

Both boxes can be checked to allow for editing values and date logs.

Material Workflows

Choose from Project Inventory workflow or Company Inventory workflow, which allows you to customize how you track your material inventory.

Prevent negative quantities from inventories

Checking this box will alert you if you are exceeding the quantity available for the specific material you are adding.

If the quantity you are logging for a material is larger than the quantity available, an error message will pop up.

Note: If this option is not enabled, your inventory will then show a negative quantity.

Enable cost code selection

Checking this box allows you to change the Cost Code when creating a Material Log.

Simply use the dropdown to select a Cost Code when creating the log.
