Permissions
Always remember to ensure the correct people have the appropriate permissions to access your company and project data. This can be done per individual or by applying Permission Templates.
In order to record Equipment time, users will need Edit permissions for Equipment
To streamline your equipment management process, our system provides features for tracking equipment usage time that can be customized to your Company's workflows.
Where to Enter Time
Based on your user's set permissions, time entries can be accessed at the company level in the Time Center module, or at the project level in the Timecard module.
Access the Time Center module to enter time
Within your company-level dashboard, locate the Time Center module to find time entry tabs for People, Equipment, and Material. Click on the Equipment tab, to view an overview of all Equipment time entries across all projects and to enter new Equipment time entries.
Navigate to the Timecard module to enter time
At the project level, find the Timecard section to view the Project's time entries for People, Equipment, and Material. Click on the Equipment tab for an overview of all equipment time entries for the Project and to enter new entries for that Project.
Methods for Recording Equipment Time
Equipment Time can be recorded from two different workflows: Labour Workflow and Equipment Workflow
Decide between these two workflows when configuring your company's Time Settings. Work with your CSM to decide which Equipment Time workflow works best for your company.
Method 1: Recording Equipment Time through Labour Workflow
Labour Workflow allows equipment time entries to be made when recording time as a user. By recording time through labour, you capture both the equipment usage time and the associated user's time in one entry.
Time can be entered at the project or company level by using +Add Time in the People's tab. When entering time at the project level, the entry will automatically be associated with that project.
Method 2: Recording Equipment Time through Equipment Workflow
Equipment Workflow allows you to create equipment time entries referencing a user, separate from the user's time entries.
At the project or company level, use the Equipment tab and the +Add Equipment button to enter time.
Note
Only the Equipment that is assigned to the specific project will appear as an option to create time.
If users do not have the permissions to "View" and "Edit" Projects or Equipment (tools), the Equipment will need to already have been assigned to the correct Project before it can be selected when checking in.
Creating a Time Entry
Choose the appropriate method (either Labour or Equipment) for recording Equipment time
Click the +Add Time or +Add Equipment button located at the top of the page
An Add Entry page will open, requiring information such as duration, project name, and equipment name
Fill out all the necessary fields
Once all details are entered, click Save & Close to store the equipment time record securely
